By entering the International League for the Protection of Horses – Michigan (ILPH-MI) Dream Car Giveaway Raffle ( this “Raffle” ) contest, a person purchasing and holding a valid ticket or a chance to win a prize ( “Ticket Buyer” ) agrees that Ticket Buyer has read the contest rules listed below ( “Official Rules”) and acknowledges to have understood them and agrees to be bound by them. Ticket Buyer acknowledges the adequacy and sufficiency of the consideration given by the International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan in connection with this raffle. Tickets for a single chance shall have a cost of TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS, $ 25.00, or FIVE TICKETS for the cost of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, $ 100.00 ( the “Chance Price” ).
ELIGIBILITY:
You must be 18 years or older to purchase a raffle entry. One (1) individual must be identified as the purchaser (or buyer) of the raffle entry. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Entries may not be purchased via the Internet by visiting www.ilph-mi.org. Tickets can be purchased by mail at: International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan, P.O. Box 266, Dansville, MI 48819. Tickets can be purchased at our ticket sale sponsors. Tickets can also be purchased from members of the International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan fundraising volunteers. Tickets will be mailed to Internet purchasers upon order. Only one (1) individual may be identified as the purchaser (or buyer) of the raffle entry. Purchaser of raffle tickets must legibly write their name and complete all information on each raffle ticket. Raffle tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable; all tickets sales are final. The members of International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan Board of Directors and their immediate family are ineligible to purchase tickets. Immediate family is defined as family members residing in the same household as the International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan board member.

Tickets will be mailed within 15 working days. If an entrant's check is dishonored by the bank, the ticket(s) will be invalid unless full payment is received for check and NSF fees.
DRAWINGS:
A maximum of 6,000 entries will be sold for this raffle. Ticket prices are 1 for $25 or 5 for $100. The Grand Prize Draw Date is Saturday, May 3, 2008, at approx 6:00 P.M. (EST), or immediately following the Kentucky Derby Race. Drawing will be conducted at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, Lincoln Room, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48823. Drawing will be immediately following the running of the Kentucky Derby. Tickets can be purchased from members until 12:00 noon (EST) May 3, 2008. U.S. Mail sales end at 11:59 P.M., April 30, 2008. International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan reserves the right to extend this promotion.
ODDS:
Only 6,000 tickets will be sold. The chances of winning are based upon that number. If fewer tickets are sold, then the odds improve. If fewer than 3,000 tickets are sold, the Grand Prize drawing will be for one half of the total collected entry fees less expenses, payable by check to the winner (50/50 pot). The vehicle will not be awarded in that event.
GRAND PRIZE:
The Grand Prize in this raffle is a 2008 Cadillac CTS (Base model with options), or the winner may choose the cash option of $30,000 cash. Proceeds from the raffle will be used to purchase the vehicle from Young Cadillac Owosso, MI. The winner of the 2008 Cadillac CTS must arrange pickup of the vehicle from Young Cadillac in Owosso, MI.
OTHER PRIZES:
Second prize: $1,000;Third prize: $500.
CONTINGENCY:
If fewer than 3,000 tickets are sold, the Grand Prize drawing will be for one half of the total collected entries less expenses, payable by check to the winner (50/50 pot). The vehicle or the $30,000 cash
prize will not be awarded in that event.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS:
Winner need not be present to win. Winner will be notified in writing via Registered Mail of requisite procedure to claim prize. Winner's name will be posted at www.ilph-mi.org within 5 calendar days of the drawing. Winning entrant is required to inform the International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan within sixty (60) calendar days from notification of their choice to take possession of the Dream Car. However, winners may have up to ninety (90) calendar days of draw date to finalize the process (including payment of taxes, withholding, etc). Winning entrant’s name and location by city or town and photo will be printed in select media of the International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan. If selected winning entrant is unable to be contacted or located after a period of sixty (60) days from the draw date, the prize may be donated to the Children and Horses United in Movement (CHUM) pending state approval. This is a therapeutic riding program for children and adults with disabilities. Three (3) attempts will be made to contact the winning entrant via Registered Mail at the address provided by the entry purchaser and via e-mail and phone as provided.
TAXES AND IRS RULES:
Winner is responsible for any and all federal, state and local income or excise taxes, Michigan sales taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the prizes. Vehicle winner will be responsible for any and all federal, state or local tax, license, title and registration fees associated with the vehicle. Winner will be responsible for any or all delivery fees and/or are responsible for retrieval of their prize. The value of your winnings is considered taxable income. Please consult your financial advisor to discuss any impact on your personal taxable income. The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances to participate in lotteries, raffles, or similar programs are not gifts, or charitable donations, and therefore, the price of entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution.
WAIVER/LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
Entrants, by participating (and winners accepting a prize), release the International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan officers, partners, and agents, including advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion and possession or use of the prize(s) awarded. Entrants will not hold the International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan responsible or liable for any or all accidents, theft or damages resulting by their participation in this event.
RELEASE:
Entrants, by participating, agree to allow the International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan to use their names, photos and statements in promotional material. The International League for the Protection of Horses - Michigan will not share other personal information from entries with other organizations.
