Meet Glorina!
Glorina, affectionately known as 'Nica', is a 1991 purebred registered Arabian mare. She is out of Gloriask, and her bloodlines are mainly Egyptian. She was surrendered by her owner, along with
Verouck and
Gloriask. These three mares have spent the past 15 years together. Nica has not had a lot of exposure or experience in the great wide world in her 16 years. She does lead, and cross tie. She will need lots of slow work done with her to show her all of the things a horse needs to get used to. She is naturally curious and bold, and we want to preserve those traits. Although she is 16, she behaves much more like a 2 or 3 year old. She has never received
under saddle training, and has never been separated from Vicky and Glory. She is learning to spend the night in a stall,
separated from her mommy.
We are very sorry to report that Nica was put down on the 1st of May 2007. Nica really grew on all the volunteers and board members, especially our president Larry. Nica was recovering very well on the outside but not on the inside there was a problem we were not aware of. She will be missed very much by everyone here at ILPH-MI and Rocky Meadows Farm.
We have started a Medical Memorial Fund for the Nica and this money will only be used for the medical expenses on the rescue horses. To contribute please click on the Donate Now Button and let us know it in the memory of Nica.
